About the JIS UNIVERSITY
JIS University was established through the Legislative Act of the Government of
West Bengal, viz. JIS University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XXII of 2014) that
came into force in February 2015.The University has a mission to be one of the top-class universities in India and a preferred destination for students, research scholars and faculty members alike.
Eligibility Criteria
(i) Students duly enrolled and pursuing full time 5 years or 3years undergraduate law course from India or from a foreign university with law as major may apply to participate in 3rdNATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, JIS UNIVERSITY.
(ii) Students enrolled and pursuing post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate courses in law is not eligible to apply.
(iii) A maximum of 5 Teams from one University/ College can participate.
Team Composition
(i) A team shall consist of maximum three members that must include two Speakers and one researcher.
(ii) Any team, intending to change the team composition of the team shall intimate the Moot Court Committee by an e-mail at dr.souvikchatterji@jisuniversity.ac.in, the change will be allowed on discretion of the Moot Court Committee.
(iii) The Researcher may be permitted to argue as Speaker in case any unforeseen event.
(iv) Prior permission of the organizers of competition in such case shall be mandatory. In case the team fails to inform the university, decision will be final.
Registration Process
a) Each team shall register for the 3rd National Moot Court Competition, Department of Juridical Sciences, JIS University by filing a registration form, in the prescribed
manner by XX Date, Year. On receipt of the duly filled registration form, the institute shall respond to the participating team, acknowledging the receipt.
b) After the deadline for the registration expires, the Moot Court Committee shall respond to each registered team, with a unique team code, which shall be used to identify the teams during the competition.
Registration Fee
a) The registration fee for the competition is INR 500/- for the registration. Fees in any case is non-refundable.
b) The registration fee for 3rd National Moot Court Competition is to be paid through NEFT transfer or UPI. No other payment method shall be accepted.
c) Any additional charges incurred by the team while making the wire transfer are to be borne by the team.

➢ Winner – 8000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ 1st Runner-Up – 5000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ 3rd Runner-Up – 3000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ Best Memorial – 3000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ Best Researcher – 3000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ Best Speaker – 3000/- + Trophy + Certificate
➢ Certificate of Participation to all
