About 2nd DSNLU-BMC Blog Writing Competition 2025-26
The 2nd DSNLU-BMC Blog Writing Competition is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the legal complexities within the global and Indian maritime sectors. It provides a platform for participants to present original research and critical analysis on emerging trends such as green fuel transition and autonomous vessels.
Theme and Sub-themes
Participants must submit blogs based on the following themes:
- Decarbonization and Green Fuel Transition in Indian Shipping.
- Digitalization of Shipping: Lessons from Global Maritime Hubs.
- Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) Compliance and Seafarer Welfare Reforms in India.
- The Future of Autonomous Vessels and International Liability Norms.
- Regional Maritime Cooperation and Legal Harmonization in the Indo-Pacific.
Eligibility and Guidelines
- Eligibility: Open to all law students (UG/PG) and scholars interested in maritime law.
- Authorship: Individual submissions only; co-authorship is not allowed.
- Word Limit: 1200 – 1500 words (exclusive of references).
- Formatting:
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12.
- Spacing: 1.5 line spacing.
- File Format: .doc or .docx only.
- Plagiarism: Must be original; plagiarism above 15% will lead to disqualification.
- References: Use internal hyperlinks or OSCOLA (4th Edition) endnotes.
Evaluation Criteria
Entries will be judged based on:
- Originality: Fresh insights and unique perspectives.
- Relevance: Adherence to the theme and depth of legal understanding.
- Clarity: Logical flow and coherent argumentation.
- Research: Use of relevant laws, case precedents, and scholarly opinions.
Awards and Rewards
- Winner (1st): ₹5,000 + Certificate of Achievement + Internship at Bose & Mitra & Co.
- Runner-up (2nd): ₹2,000 + Certificate of Achievement + Internship at Bose & Mitra & Co.
- Third Prize: Certificate of Achievement + Internship at Bose & Mitra & Co.
- Honorable Mentions: Certificates of Recognition for up to two participants.

Registration and Submission Process
- Registration Fee: INR 250 per participant.
