CLPR is inviting applications for the Constitution Defender Fellowship. This is a prestigious, long-term opportunity for litigators committed to constitutional rights and social justice to engage in high-impact litigation and community advocacy.

Fellowship Details

  • Position: Constitution Defender Fellow
  • Total Vacancies:14 (Pan-India)
    • 10 Fellows: From Southern States (Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu).
    • 4 Fellows: From the rest of India.
  • Duration: 33 months (2.75 years)
  • Mode: Litigation-focused, in-person field and court work.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Law graduate enrolled with the State Bar Council.
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong commitment to constitutional rights and social justice.
  • Excellent research, drafting, and writing skills in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in strategic constitutional litigation.
  • Provide legal support to marginalized groups.
  • Handle human rights and constitutional law matters.
  • Conduct legal research, drafting, and case preparation.
  • Support advocacy, community outreach, and rights-based initiatives.
