About NITI Aayog
The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India. It is the nodal agency tasked with catalyzing economic development and fostering cooperative federalism. Chaired by the Prime Minister, it works with key Union Ministers and experts to design strategic and long-term policies.
About the Internship
NITI Aayog invites undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars to work closely with its various Verticals, Divisions, and Cells. The objective is to associate young academic talent with the Aayog’s work for mutual benefit.

Key Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to Government functioning and developmental policy issues.
- Contribute to policy formulation by generating inputs such as:
- Empirical analysis
- Briefing reports
- Policy papers
Eligibility Criteria Bonafide students of any recognized University/Institution within India or abroad are eligible if they meet the following conditions:
- Undergraduate Students: Must have completed/appeared in the term-end exams of the 2nd year (4th semester).
- Academic Requirement: Secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in 12th Class.
- Postgraduate/Research/PhD Students: Must have completed/appeared in the term-end exams of the 1st year (2nd semester).
- Academic Requirement: Secured not less than 70% or equivalent marks in Graduation.
- Recent Graduates: Students who have completed their final exams and are waiting for admission to higher studies may apply provided:
- They secured 70% or more cumulative marks in their graduation/post-graduation.
- The period between the result declaration and the internship start date does not exceed six months.
