About 4th C.P. Sudhakara Prasad Memorial National Moot Court Competition
The 4th C.P. Sudhakara Prasad Memorial National Moot Court Competition is a hybrid event designed to provide law students with a platform to hone essential skills in research, writing, critical thinking, and advocacy.
Format: Hybrid (Online Preliminary Rounds & Offline Advanced Rounds).
Theme: The moot problem centers on a contemporary and pressing constitutional issue concerning the role of the Governor under Article 200 of the Indian Constitution.
About the Organisers: All India Lawyers Union (AILU)
The All India Lawyers Union (AILU) is a prominent legal organization founded in 1982 under the patronage of judicial stalwarts including Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer and Justice H. R. Khanna. AILU is dedicated to upholding constitutional and democratic rights, actively campaigning for judicial independence and protecting the interests of the legal fraternity and the public.
The Ernakulam District Committee specifically organizes this national moot court competition to honor the memory and uphold the legal legacy of the late Senior Advocate C.P. Sudhakara Prasad, a former Advocate General of Kerala and a leader within AILU. By associating with NUALS, Kochi, they provide an essential intellectual platform for law students to engage rigorously with critical constitutional law issues.
COMPETITION STRUCTURE
- Preliminary Rounds: Conducted Online (Virtually).
- Advanced Rounds: Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals will be conducted Offline at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) campus in Kochi.

ELIGIBILITY
- Open to all bona fide undergraduate law students (5-year integrated and 3-year LL.B. programs) from institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Team Composition: Each team shall consist of two members only, both designated as speakers.
Important Dates
- Final Date for Registration: 14th December 2025
- Final Date for Submission of Argument Note: 17th December 2025
- Online Preliminary Rounds: 20th – 21st December 2025
- Offline Advanced Rounds (at NUALS, Kochi): 10th – 11th January 2026
Registration Details
- Registration Fee: ₹3,500 per team
- Prizes (Cash Prizes Totaling ₹1,15,000):
- Winner: ₹50,000 + Trophy + Medal + Certificate of Merit
- First Runners-Up: ₹35,000 + Trophy + Medal + Certificate of Merit
- Best Argument Note: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
- Best Speaker (Finals): ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
- Accommodation: Accommodation for teams qualifying for the Advanced Rounds (Quarter-finals onwards) will be provided on an additional payment of ₹2,500 per team.
