About Legal Internship Opportunity at DSLSA

DSLSA is inviting applications for its highly structured Winter Internship Programme for January 2026. This is a comprehensive, hands-on, in-person internship offering massive exposure to various courts, institutions, and legal aid activities in Delhi.

Internship Details

  • Position: Winter Intern
  • Number of Vacancies: 200
  • Duration: 09 January 2026 – 29 January 2026
  • Location: Delhi (Placements across various DSLSA units, courts, and institutions).
  • Certification / Rewards: Internship Certificate (on minimum 75% attendance) and 3 Excellence Certificates for outstanding interns.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes
  • Good written communication (English), legal writing, and basic legal knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
  • Interest in public-interest work, outreach, and community engagement; punctuality and sincerity are essential.

Key Responsibilities

The role provides unparalleled exposure, including:

  • Court Observation: Observe and assist in District Courts (Civil & Criminal), Family Courts, Special Courts (e.g., N.I. Act), Labour Courts & Tribunals, DRT, AFT, and Consumer Forums.
  • Institutional Visits: Visit Observation Homes, Juvenile Justice Boards, Child Welfare Committees, Prisons (Tihar / Rohini), Police Stations, Forensic Laboratories, One-Stop Centres, and shelter homes.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in door-to-door legal awareness campaigns and Legal Services Clinics.
  • Administrative & Research Support: Assist with basic legal research, drafting memos/notes, documentation, maintaining case trackers, and administrative support for legal-aid activities.
