About 3rd Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition

Building upon the success of its previous editions, HNLU gears up to host the 3rd Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition (HIMCC). This prestigious event expands upon the legacy of the former Justice Hidayatullah National Moot Court Competition (HNMCC), providing a high-level, international platform for students to test their advocacy skills. The competition rounds will be held in-person at the HNLU Campus.

Theme and Moot Problem Summary

  • Central Theme: Energy Law & Climate Justice.
  • Moot Problem Summary: The problem centers on a dispute in the Union of Bharnesia (UOB) involving the Centre for Clean Energy and Mitigation of Effects of Climate Change (CCE&MCC), an NGO, and various government authorities. The case concerns the unequal treatment and lower subsidies provided to small-scale biomass power producers compared to solar and wind units. The dispute raises complex constitutional issues regarding equality before law, administrative fairness in renewable energy policy, and the State’s duty to promote sustainable development.
