About Legal Internship at Hikmat Helping Hands Foundation
Hikmat Helping Hands Foundation is inviting applications for a short-term Social Justice & Legal Aid Internship for January 2026. This role is a unique blend of remote policy research and local community outreach, designed for students passionate about public interest work and human rights advocacy.
Internship Details
- Position: Social Justice & Legal Aid Intern
- Duration: 1 January 2026 – 30 January 2026
- Mode: Remote + Limited local neighborhood outreach
- Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
- Application Deadline: 30 December 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Research: Drafting briefs on legal and social issues affecting marginalized groups.
- Advocacy: Planning and executing virtual awareness campaigns.
- Field Outreach: Organizing 2–3 local visits in your own neighborhood to spread awareness about fundamental rights.
- Documentation: Supporting research and reporting for ongoing foundation initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Contributing to youth-led advocacy and community projects.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current undergraduate or postgraduate students (from any field, though law and policy are preferred).
- A strong, demonstrable interest in human rights, social justice, or legal aid.
- Highly motivated to engage in both research-driven and community-based work.
- Ability to manage the required weekly hours alongside academic commitments.
