Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) at National Law University (NLU), Delhi, is inviting original and analytical blog submissions for its ongoing blog series. This platform is dedicated to exploring the complex legal, policy, and regulatory frameworks that govern urban spaces, offering a space for scholars and practitioners to share innovative solutions for modern cities.

About the Centre (CLUD)

The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) focuses on the intersection of law and the urban environment. Its primary mission is to foster informed discourse on urban governance, housing, infrastructure, and sustainability. Through its research and the CLUD Blog Series, the centre critically evaluates contemporary legal and regulatory developments that shape the evolution of cities.

Themes

CLUD encourages submissions that go beyond descriptive writing to offer deep analytical insights:

  • Real Estate & Housing: Affordable housing, redevelopment policies, and rent control.
  • Smart Cities & Tech: Digital infrastructure, data privacy in urban governance, and IoT in city management.
  • Sustainability: Green cities, climate-resilient infrastructure, and environmental regulations.
  • Finance & Utilities: Urban taxation, project financing, insolvency frameworks, and public utilities (power, water).
  • Governance: Public–Private Partnerships (PPP) and urban healthcare regulation.

Eligibility

The call for blogs is open to a wide range of contributors, including:

  • Academics and Researchers.
  • Legal Practitioners and Policymakers.
  • Law Students.

Submission Categories and Guidelines

  • Word Limit: 800 – 1500 words.
  • Authorship: A maximum of two authors is permitted per submission.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished. They will be screened for plagiarism and AI-generated content.
  • Abstract: A separate abstract of no more than 50 words is required.
  • Bio & Photo: Authors must provide a brief bio (approx. 100 words), a high-resolution photograph, and a LinkedIn profile link.
  • Visuals: Relevant images, graphs, and tables are encouraged to support the analysis.

Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12.
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing; one-inch margins.
  • Title: Bold and underlined (Sentence case, max 10 words).
  • Referencing: All references must be provided via hyperlinks within the text.

Submission Procedure

  • Format: Submissions must be in .doc or .docx format.
  • Anonymity: Ensure the document metadata does not disclose the author’s identity.
  • File Name: Title_CLUD Blog.
