The Centre for Labour Laws (CLL) at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, is inviting original blog submissions from the legal fraternity. As the landscape of employment in India undergoes a tectonic shift with the introduction of new Labour Codes and the rise of the gig economy, this platform offers a space for critical analysis, policy critique, and scholarly dialogue.

NLIU Bhopal, established in 1997, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. It is recognized for its academic rigor and its commitment to resolving complex legal problems through specialized research.
The Centre for Labour Laws (CLL) was established in 2019, born out of the “Mazdoor Mitra” initiative during the pandemic to assist migrant workers. Today, it has evolved into a multidisciplinary forum for research and analysis of domestic and global labour issues.
Focus Areas: Themes for Submission
The labour legal landscape is currently being reshaped by technological advancements and economic reforms. The Centre encourages submissions on themes including, but not limited to:
- The Digital Economy: Wage regulations and labour rights in the era of AI and automation.
- Gig and Platform Work: Social security provisions and the classification of “workers” vs. “partners.”
- New Labour Codes: Implementation challenges and the future of industrial relations in India.
- Social Justice: Workplace discrimination, gender equality, and occupational safety (OSH) in emerging industries.
- Global Perspectives: Cross-border migration, worker protection, and the role of trade unions.

Submission & Formatting Guidelines
To ensure a high standard of scholarship, contributors must adhere to the following:
- Word Limit: 1200 – 1500 words.
- Originality: Manuscripts must be original and unpublished. High AI similarity and plagiarism are strictly prohibited.
- Referencing: Sources must be hyperlinked within the text. For sources not available online, use the OSCOLA referencing style.
- Formatting: * File format: MS Word (.docx).
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12.
- Spacing: 1.5 line spacing; Justified alignment.
- Copyright: Upon publication, the copyright of the submission shall remain with the Centre (LELB, CLL, NLIU).
