The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, is inviting submissions for the inaugural Volume 1 (2026) of its flagship journal, the NUSRL Law Review (NLR). This double-blind peer-reviewed journal aims to foster critical legal scholarship and interdisciplinary dialogue. The submission deadline is May 31, 2026.

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, was established by the Jharkhand State Legislature as the 14th National Law University in India. It is a premier institution dedicated to legal education and research, functioning under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ashok R. Patil.
About NUSRL Law Review
The NUSRL Law Review (NLR) is the university’s flagship academic publication. It is designed to advance legal research across all branches of law while upholding the highest ethical standards (COPE principles). The journal is edited by a dedicated team, with Mr. Abhinav Gupta serving as the faculty editor.

Eligibility and Authorship
- Eligibility: The call is open to scholars, legal practitioners, academicians, and students.
- Authorship: Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors (relaxable in specific cases).
Submission Categories
All submissions must be analytical in nature. The word limits (exclusive of footnotes) are:
- Research Paper: Up to 10,000 words.
- Long Articles: Above 5,000 words.
- Short Articles/Essays: 3,000–5,000 words.
- Case/Legislative Comments & Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words.
Formatting Guidelines
Manuscript Standards
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12, 0.5 line spacing, Justified.
- Margins: 1-inch on all sides (A4 size).
- Abstract: Maximum 250 words with 5 keywords.
- Citations: Must follow the Bluebook 20th Edition. For case laws, the use of SCC or AIR citations is preferred. Footnotes should be in Size 10 with 1.0 spacing.
Editorial Policy and Deadline
- Review Process: NLR follows a three-tier double-blind peer review process, including preliminary screening, substantive review, and a final faculty check.
- Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished. AI-generated content or plagiarism exceeding 15% (Turnitin) will result in immediate rejection.
- Deadline: Manuscripts must be submitted by May 31, 2026. The board aims to complete the review within six weeks.
Submission Procedure
Submissions must be made in .docx format via the official Google Form. The file name should be saved as “Author Name_Title”. To ensure a blind review, the manuscript itself must not contain any identifying information.
