About MLSU Udaipur
The University College of Law (UCL) at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, was established in 1962 and remains one of Rajasthan’s most prestigious law institutions. Registered with the Bar Council of India, UCL is renowned for its academic rigor and its success in producing high-ranking judicial officers. The college boasts a fully digitalized library with access to elite legal databases like AIR, SCC Online, and Manupatra.
About FIAT JUSTITIA
Hosted under the leadership of Dean Prof. (Dr.) Anand Paliwal, FIAT JUSTITIA 2026 is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and courtroom reality. This inaugural national moot aims to foster ethical legal practice, analytical thinking, and research proficiency among the next generation of legal professionals.
Moot Theme
The moot proposition focuses on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Key legal issues to be argued include:
- AI Model Training: Legalities surrounding surveillance and automated processing.
- Data Privacy: Violations, consent, and purpose limitation.
- Data Fiduciary Obligations: Responsibilities and regulatory compliance.
- Constitutional Rights: Disputes involving Article 19(1)(g) and Article 21.
- Penalties: Proportionality and regulatory oversight.
Eligibility and Team Composition
- Eligibility: Bona fide law students currently enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programs are eligible.
- Institutional Limit: Only one team per institution is permitted to participate.
- Team Composition:
- 3-Member Team: 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher.
- 2-Member Team: 2 Speakers (one must act as the researcher).
Fee Structure
- Without Accommodation: ₹3,000 per team.
- With Accommodation: ₹5,000 per team (Includes stay from February 20th to 23rd, 2026).

Prizes and Rewards
The competition offers a massive prize pool including cash awards and legal database subscriptions:
- Winner: ₹11,000 Cash Prize + Trophy + SCC Online Yearly Subscription (worth ₹32,000) for each team member.
- Runner-Up: ₹9,000 Cash Prize + Trophy.
- Best Memorial: Trophy + Certificate of Merit.
- Best Student Advocate: Trophy + Certificate of Merit.
- All Participants: Certificate of Participation + 1-month SCC Online Access (worth ₹3,100).
