About the National Commission of Women

In keeping with its mandate, the Commission initiated various steps to improve the status of women and worked for their economic empowerment during the year under report. The Commission completed its visits to all the States/UTs except Lakshadweep and prepared Gender Profiles to assess the status of women and their empowerment.

About the Conference

Women in the unorganized sector face a multitude of challenges that often go unnoticed or unaddressed. This sector is characterized by informal employment, lack of job security, and limited labor protections, disproportionately affects women. To address the issues of unorganized workers many laws including Unorganized Workers Social Security Act, 2008 were passed.

However, much needs to be achieved in terms of implementation and enforcement of rights by workers in unorganized sector specifically women. The vulnerability of women in the unorganized sector has certain industry-specific dimensions, for example, the construction sector in India, while a significant contributor to the country’s GDP, faces challenges in terms of gender equality.

Call for Papers

The organizers invite original, unpublished research papers for national conference from students, research scholars, academicians and practicing lawyers on above sub-themes. Authors shall declare that the manuscripts submitted for seminar do not infringe the copyright of any other person.

The interested researcher should send an abstract which contain 200 – 250 words accompanied by a brief profile of the author including his email ID, contact number, his/ her research background (if any) and his/her institutional affiliation by filing google form. Selected quality papers will be published either in the form of seminar proceedings or book with ISBN number.

Guidelines for Paper Submission

  • Font Size-12
  • Font- Times New Roman
  • Word Limit- minimum of 3000 to maximum of 5000 words
  • Language of paper- Papers shall be submitted and presented in English only
  • Co-authorship- up to one Co-author is allowed
  • Citation method- ILI
  • Line spacing- 1.5
  • Page alignment- Left-1.5, Right-1, Top 1 and bottom-1

  • 29th September 2024- Last date of submission of abstract
  • 30th September 2024- Communication of selection of abstracts
  • 11th October 2024- Last date of submission of full paper 
  • 19th October 2024- Date of the Conference
