Established in 2003, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a multidisciplinary institution renowned for its industry-aligned curriculum and leading-edge specializations. UPES enables the new generation of learners to realize the best in themselves and the world they will help shape. Located in the serene locales of the Himalayan foothills, the university has a sprawling 44-acre campus and state-of-the-art infrastructure. to offers specialized undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of Engineering, Management, Law, Health, Sciences, Design, Modern Media and Computer Sciences.
UPES has established unique partnerships with industry pioneers, as well as academic collaborations with universities across the world. UPES’ membership with various international forums promotes the exchange program. The university has over 50 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with partners across the globe and several active associations with international bodies.
ABOUT UPES MUN CLUB
UPES Model United Nations (MUN) Club, where diplomacy meets innovation, and tomorrow’s leaders are shaped today. Established with a vision to foster intellectual discourse, global awareness, and leadership skills, the UPES MUN Club stands as a beacon of excellence within our academic community. At the heart of club lies a passionate commitment of providing a platform for students to engage in stimulating debates, simulate international diplomacy, and cultivate a deep understanding of complex global issues.
Subsequently, their Model UN conferences attract participants from institutions across the globe to the heart of our country. Breaking through with Uttarakhand’s first University level Model UN conference in 2012, UPES has paved its way to host, for the eighth time, The UPES International MUN 2024 after the overwhelming popularity garnered by its previous iterations. The Intra Dehradun Model United Nations Conference 2023 was also hosted on 16- 17 September 2023, and the Conference invited 300+ delegates from across esteemed institutions in the city.
They authenticate the substantiation of theri advocacy exploring the art and vitality of debate and, ni consequence, have had the honour of fostering support from revered individuals and organizations such as the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, the Government of Uttarakhand, Aditya Birla, the Bank of Baroda, the Doon Hostel Welfare Association, the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (IMA), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the Oil & Natural gas Corporation (ONGC), and the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC), for the continual growth and cultivation of the UPES Model UN.

Resurrecting Diplomacy: The 8th Edition of UPES International Model United Nations Conference- “Where Diplomacy Embraces Diversity”. The UPES MUN Club is beyond thrilled as it presents to you the highly anticipated 8th International Model United Nations Conference 2024. The conference will take place on the 27-28th January 2024, and you all are requested to join us as we embark on a transformative journey of discourses of global significance. The conference will be hosted at the picturesque Bidholi Campus of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. Nestled in the embrace of nature, college campus serves as the perfect canvas for intellectual stimulation, offering a picturesque setting that inspires creativity and fosters academic excellence. With state-of-the-art facilities and lush surroundings, the venue encapsulates the ideal environment for the International UPES MUN Conference, where minds converge and ideas flourish. During these two days, they will unite as advocates of change, champions of progress, and most importantly, ambassadors of peace.
