Core Practice Areas
Given the partners’ backgrounds and the firm’s location, you can expect heavy involvement in:
- Writ Jurisdiction & Constitutional Law: Handling petitions before the High Court and Supreme Court.
- Commercial Litigation: Contractual disputes, recovery suits, and IBC matters.
- Arbitration: Assisting in both domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
- Government Advisory: Since the partner is on the Union of India panel, associates often gain exposure to matters involving state instrumentalities and public law.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting: Preparing nuanced pleadings, including Special Leave Petitions (SLPs), Writ Petitions, Counters, and Rejoinders.
- Court Appearances: Handling “mentioning,” seeking adjournments, and appearing in miscellaneous matters across Delhi Courts and Tribunals (NCLT, NGT, DRT).
- Case Strategy: Assisting partners in “briefing” senior advocates and developing trial/appellate strategies.
- Research: Conducting deep-dive legal research into complex questions of law using SCC Online and Manupatra.
Eligibility Criteria
- Experience: 1 year of active litigation experience in Delhi is mandatory.
- Joining: Immediate or short-notice joiners are typically preferred in chamber-style practices.
- Skills: Strong command over English (written and spoken) and familiarity with the filing procedures of the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.
