About the Event

The National Moot Court Competition organized by Amity Law School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus promises once again to unite some of the nest and brightest law student in India. Since its inception in the year 2007, this competition has grown to become one of the most highly regarded events of its kind in India.

Amity Law School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus through this event aims to inspire the educational excellence and legal intellect of law students across the Nation. Amity Law School strongly believes that the present legal education should be beyond the books; Amity Law School has inspired legal education with a collegial intellectual community.

Students learn and improve their advocacy skills by participating in the National Moot Court Competition. These are the reasons that Amity Law School is dedicated towards organising these kinds of events and set a benchmark every year.

Theme of the Event

Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus is organizing, the XV National Amity Moot Court Competition 2024. Participants will have a platform to compete and demonstrate their legal acumen during the competition. The main goal of the XV National Amity Moot Court Competition 2024 is to introduce and develop mooting skills among law students. It also provides a platform for the mooting speakers and researchers to represent their institutions. Additionally, it will broaden their academic horizons.

GENERAL RULES

  • Teams are requested to submit 10 hard copies (Petitioner-5 and Respondent-5) at the time of formal
    registration at the venue on 29th February 2024.
  • The language to be used during the rounds is English.
  • The Competition shall consist of the following rounds:
    1. Preliminary Round I and Preliminary Round II.
    2. Quarterfinals.
    3. Semi-finals.
    4. Finals.
  • During each of the above-mentioned rounds, the order in which the teams shall present their arguments is as follows:
    1. Petitioner Speaker 1
    2. Petitioner Speaker 2
    3. Respondent Speaker 1
    4. Respondent Speaker 2
    5. Rebuttal: Petitioner: Any one of the two Speakers
    6. Sur-rebuttal: Respondent: Any one of the two Speakers

Eligibility

  • The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bonade, on a regular basis in an undergraduate law course
    (3 years/5 years) conducted by any recognized College/ Institution/ University.
  • A recognized College/Institution/University is entitled to send a maximum of 3 teams to the competition.
  • Each team shall comprise a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. In a team
    comprising of two members, both members shall be designated as Orators. In a team comprising three
    members, two members shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as a Researcher.
  • Teams shall not disclose their identity or that of their institution. However, the speakers can disclose their
    names only to the bench during the oral arguments.

METHOD OF REGISTRATION

  • Each team must register by filling up the registration form available on the official website and paying the registration fee as provided. Each team shall complete such registration by 10th February 2024. (11:59 p.m.).
  • The registration fee is RS. 4,500/- (rupees four thousand ve hundred) + GST
  • The registration fee will be non-refundable in the event of non-participation after registration.

ACCOMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORTATION

  • Accommodation shall be provided to all outstation teams by the organizers from the afternoon (12:00 hrsIST) of 28th February 2024 till the morning (10:00 hrs IST) of 3rd march 2024.
  • Transportation to and from the venue shall be provided to all the outstation teams for the aforementioned duration. If the teams opt to commute on their expense from the station/airport to the venue the organizers shall not pay the fare for it.
  • Food (breakfast, lunch and dinner shall be provided by the organizers for all the teams for 29th February 2024 till 2nd march 2024. Outstation teams arriving before or departing after the aforementioned duration may avail the mess food facilities on their expenses i.e. Rs. 50/- per person per meal.
  • The teams availing the stay facility must abide by the hostel rules and regulations observed in the campus and non-compliance of which shall lead to immediate disqualication. No participant availing the stay facility shall be allowed to leave the campus premises after 20:00 hrs IST and the entry timings in the hostel premises is 21:30 hrs IST(girls) and 22:00 hrs IST (boys). Participants are expected to follow decent clothing.
  • In case of medical emergency assistance will be provided by the organizers.
    NOTE: Intake/use/mere possession of any prohibited substances (e.g. cigarette/alcohol/narcotic substances/ any sharp object) is strictly prohibited during the stay throughout the competition, non-compliance of which may lead to mmediate disqualification.
